IDPF Digital Book 2010 conference
IDPF Digital Book 2010 will be a one-day educational conference that gives attendees the opportunity to network with global leaders in publishing and technology. It will take place on Tuesday, May 25, at the Jacob K. Javits Center – New York City.
Learn about the latest trends in the digital publishing industry through expert panels and in-depth demonstrations and case studies. Included are workshops on the EPUB standard, eBook production, workflow, and best practices.
The conference sessions include:
- The Global Digital Book Community: Success Stories from Around the World
- Taking the “Agency Model” Out for a Spin: New eBook Rules of the Road for Publishers
- EPUB Enhanced, Interactive & Connected
- Predictions for IDPF Digital Book 2011 and Beyond (devices, apps, and platforms)
- Digital Magazines & Newspapers: New Models for Ad-Supported Publications
- DRM Update and Copyright Protection in the Market
Two workshops are also planned during this conference. There are two tracks to choose from: the first track is about: EPUB production and the second one is about: eBook sales and marketing.
Conference speakers include: Jim Abar – Editorial Director for PreMedia Global Creative Resources, Peter Balis – Director Digital Content Sales (John Wiley & Sons, Inc.), Nick Bogaty – Sr. Business Development Manager (Digital Publishing Adobe Systems Incorporated Treasurer IDPF Board of Directors), Peter Brantley – Director of BookServer Project (Internet Archive IDPF Board Member).
The IDPF Digital Book Zone at BEA will showcase products and services to thousands of publishers, booksellers, digital distributors, device manufacturers, software, and technology companies from around the world.
