E-learning forum in the Middle East
Starting February 1st, 2010 and for 3 days, The Dubai based Hamdan Bin Mohammed e-University (HBMeU) will be organizing the 3rd annual forum on e-learning excellence in the Middle East.
The forum theme chosen is: bringing global quality to a local context. The focus of the 3rd edition of the forum will be on systemic approaches of networked education and training, where every region and culture is keen to participate in the construction of the knowledge society and economy according to global quality standards, while preserving its own specifity, identity and values.
The objectives of this forum are as follows:
- To bring together e-Learning professionals and experts from around the world to discuss specific new forms of learning and epistemological issues regarding how learning occurs and how knowledge emerges beyond the borders of traditional systems of education,
- To provide a platform where educators, researchers, practitioners and e-Learning providers can open creative spaces where learning, innovation and work can be integrated: innovative pedagogical approaches for teaching, learning, assessment, learners support and services, faculty and staff development, etc.
- To address and discuss matters related to social transformation respecting psychological and cultural issues which may be of relevance to the region.
- To understand the various models for measuring the effectiveness of e-learning and addressing the factors influencing effective and ineffective e-learning implementations.
- To present and share the latest technological advancements and innovations, tools and conceptual artifacts improving the delivery of a high quality e-Learning experience.
- To promote the exchange of good practice and case studies relevant to the planning, design, development, delivery and assessment of e-Learning.
The organizers invite all those engaged with the implementation of excellence in e-learning to share their experiences and practices by submitting research papers, case studies, view points and reviews.
