This is a new school due to start september 2010.The time factor is essentiel.Many questions will arise as far as the
equivalency of the new Bachelor of Business Administration and
the Master,two different levels of learning,of course.More details are needed so as to appreciate this « training »as far as
curricula are concerned,and the sequence of courses planned.The
new student whose registration is accepted can’t help but look
over the content and the container,so to speak.A national conference was held on January 11th,2002,at Gammarth,and dealt
with the series of problems related to the October 2001 decree,
dealing with »DEA »and other diplomas.A diploma should be conceived as an instrument,not an end ,while English Speaking
Schools,the world over,talk about »a credential. »To better understand the future,one must study the past,so as to draw the
right conclusions and set the appropriate goals.At this juncture,a tribute should be paid,posthumously,to the late
Dr Youssef Alouane,former Director of CEFAGE,and a close colleague to Mr Abdellatif Khemakhem,for his rich field experience and direct involvement in teaching »Management ».
In the early 199Os,students registered at ISG and HEC,Tunis
could not get easy recognition for their diplomas in business
administration.The debate is worth starting right away so as
to overcome inevitable drawbacks.Such initiative is welcome,yet
the road for »Excellence « and »Prestige »isn’t an easy one.A quick
look at the latest international ranking of universities published by the University of Shanghai should bring to mind
the need for a workable educational strategy apt to satisfy the
various aprties involved,namely the candidates for a diploma,
the entrepreneurs likely to hire future managers,and the administration as a whole.Such a choice should lead to serious
planning of the various phases,including the preparation of a
Master Thesis,if the equivalency of « Bachelor of Business Administration is to be equivalent to a Master Degree.One wonders what would be the relationships within the »LMD »system.
Six fundamental questions need be answered:(1)What,(2)How,
(3)who,(4)When,(5)Where,and(6)Who?as recommended by Rudyard
Kipling,the Nobel Prize Laureate in Literature,in 1907.In the
language of Joel de Rosenay,the author of « Le Macroscope »(1975,
Le Seuil,Edition),the focus of attention on such a system such
as this one is to be placed on(a)the elements involved,(b)
the linkages between these elements,and(c)the end-purpose,or
« Finalité. »Efficiency and effectiveness should be the deciding
factors of such an ambitious program.
