Presidential interest to training
According to the Ministry of communication technologies, President Zine el Abidine Ben Ali took interest, when conferring on Monday morning with Prime Minister Mohamed Ghannouchi, in the programmes of human resources valorisation and skills development.
The Head of State became acquainted, in this regard, with preparations underway for the start, within the coming weeks, of the implementation of the training programme crowned by vocational training certificates in such specialties as software development, data bases and networks management and computer security.
This programme is to target, at a first stage, 10,000 youths among higher-education graduates, as part of partnership with leading world producers of computer systems and software.
The Head of State recommended, in this connection, to combine all factors that would achieve at best this programme.
President Ben Ali also instructed to perfect implementation of the strategy pertaining to setting up the national quality evaluation and guarantee system, with a view to enhancing efficiency of universities, ensuring optimum utilisation of material and human resources and reinforcing partnership between Tunisian universities, on the one hand, and economic enterprises and foreign universities, on the other.
Besides, President Zine el Abidine Ben Ali emphasised the need to endeavour to follow up achievement of reforms and implementation of measures pertaining to the development of the vocational training system, reinforcement of its efficiency and improvement of its output.
This is, in particular, meant to generalise the quality-system and reinforce certifying training, in order to develop aptitudes and skills that are appropriate to new jobs and meet the national economy’s future needs.
