US funded Digital Library soon to connect North African academic, research institutions
A project funded by the U.S. Civilian Research and Development Foundation aiming at connecting Tunisian, Moroccan, and Libyan universities and scientific institutions to a “digital library”, will soon be launched. The news was recently announced by the Tunisian website investir-en tunisie.
The U.S. Civilian Research and Development Foundation is a non-profit organization authorized by the U.S. Congress and established in 1995 by the National Science Foundation. The organization promotes international scientific and technical collaboration through grants, technical resources, and training.
The association is also boosting efforts to promote Algeria, Morocco and Tunisia’s ability to access the latest scientific research results, and to provide scientists better working conditions.
According to “investir en tunisie” 1.5 million dollars will be earmarked for the project from an amount of five million dollars that have been granted by the U.S. government to this association in order to promote scientific cooperation in the MENA region.
